Head Coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Edward Nii Odoom has said it was a painful draw for his side after they shared the spoils with AshantiGlod SC in their Ghana Premier League (GPL) Matchday Two encounter yesterday.
The game ended 2-2 at the Accra Sports Stadium with Kwadjo Obeng Jnrof Hearts and Hans Kwofie of the Miners both scoring a brace for their side.
And the Hearts of Oak helmsman said he was disappointed with the result after the Phobians failed to hold on to a 2-1 lead going into time added on at the end of 90 minutes.
“I am very disappointed with the result. This was not a draw game, we should have killed this game in the first half, and even in the second half, we created all the chances in the game”, Coach Odoom said at the post-match interview.
He blamed the last-minute equalizer from the Miners on a lack of concentration in the heart of the team’s defence and promised to work on this going into the next GPL game.
This was Hearts’ first game of the season after their opening day fixture against Aduana Stars at Dormaa Ahenkro scheduled to have come off on November 15, was called off at the last minute due to Coronavirus concerns.
Hearts will play Inter Allies in a capital derby at the Accra Sports Stadium in their next game with the encounter set to come off on Sunday evening.
