According to information reaching Ghspeak.com is that, the former finance minister in the NDC  died on Saturday, November 19, 2022, after a short illness.

This sad incident happened at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, where he was receiving treatment.

Prior to his demise, he was a key member of the Council of Elders of the National Democratic Congress, having played an integral role in the evolution of the NDC, from its PNDC era.

Kwesi Botchwey is a Professor of Practice in Development Economics at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy of Tufts University

Prof. Botchwey was Minister for Finance and Economic Planning  from 1982 to 1995. He was appointed by Jerry Rawlings to assist in stabilizing Ghana’s collapsed economy

He died at age 80.
